TACO SEASONING MIX
1/4 cup instant minced onion
2 tbsp. ground cumin
1 tbsp. crushed red hot pepper flakes, or more to taste
1 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. chili powder, or more to taste
2 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. instant minced garlic
2 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
Combine all ingredients and divide into 6 equal portions. Wrap in aluminum foil. Store in airtight container or a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
Note: Use 1 portion per 1 lb. ground beef crumbles. Sprinkle seasoning over cooked/rehydrated meat, add 1/2 cup water and 1 tbsp. ketchup. Simmer, uncovered, for about 10 minutes or until water has evaporated.
